Good Afternoon, we are new to this forum.  We are planning a trip out east this summer for 12 days.  We have reservations at the Boston Minuteman campground for three nights.  We're looking for other suggestions to stay and visit in the area of Vermont, NH and Mass.

We thought about Bar Harbor but thought we would save that visit when we take a month and go to Nova Scotia and PEI in a couple of years.

Thanks,

Gary & Jill

Hi Gary & Jill,

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions.

If you are coming by way of I84 or I90 you could take a couple of days and visit Sturbridge, MA. You can find the information at http://www.osv.org/. We haven't been there in several years so it probably has improved but we did enjoy it. We now stay about 20 minutes south during the summer in our daughter' yard. :) The Basketball Hall of Fame is not far away in Springfield, MA but I have no idea what it's like.

In Shelburne, Vt you can visit the Shelburne museum. Read about it at http://www.shelburnemuseum.org/.

In New York you could visit Ft. Ticonderoga which might tie in nicely with your visit to Boston. Read about it at http://www.fort-ticonderoga.org/.

If you are going north into the Whiute Mountains, we accidentily came across one of the nicest quiet family campgrounds in a place called Bethel Maine, the site is called Littlefield Beaches.  It's on a chrystal clear lake in the middle of mountains, and is great for a bit of R & R.  Try www.littlefieldbeaches.com for info.
