Bummer. I'll get the ridex.  Then I'll try hot water. Can't use swivels stick due to toilet doesnt go into tank, there is a right turn elbow.  If I hook up hose to BW tank inlet leave lever open and let run for an hour or so would that break it down?

One more question. When you first started using the black water tank were you ever able to go more than 3 or 4 days before dumping. If not, I've got the feeling that the pervious owner left you with a surprise.

Your problem may be the dreaded POO Pyramid. What a lot of people don't understand is with a black tank you need to keep the drain valve closed until you're ready to dump and also means you must fill the tank until it's close to 3/4 full . If that's not done, what will happen is the liquids will drain out and the solids will stay in the tank. I'm thinking you may have a whole bunch of solids in there and they're taking up space in your tank. I could be wrong.
What you need to do is get something like RIDEX or similar and put it in your tank and try and leave it for a few days.
Then get one of these and do a thorough job of breaking up the solids you have in there.

If this is your problem it will take a lot of patience and several days of flushing/dumping.
Also purchase a clear elbow to put on the discharge sewer pipe. This way you can see if anything is still coming out of the tank.

If I'm missing anything, anyone please step.
Yes, from day one. I do have a clear elbow. When I use I do see clear water but I guess that doesnt mean the pyramid is gone. Does it become like a hard poo mountain so even if clear water is running around it you wouldnt know? Its gotta be pretty big if it fill in three days....funny, I'm picturing the mountain in Close Encounters of a Third Kind from the 80's with Richard Dryfus if you know what I mean...lol...also, I looked up riddix, do you recommend tabs powder or liquid? Thanks again

I would use the liquid but there are other brands too. Gary uses/recommends another brand that's available at Walmart. I can't think of the name.

Just found it. It's called ROEBIC.

The Poo pyramid can get to the consistency of concrete if dried out completely.  Just running water will help very little, and the water will run clear.  Adding water and letting it soak with or without Rid X, and lots of PATIENCE is best.

I do not remember - do you have a tank rinse / flush?  It may shoot water around the tank, and this may help some after a good soak.

The one I listed is a flexible hose to go through elbows.

Do you have a 90 degree elbow in the pipe or two 45 degree elbows?

I don't know if running water down through the pipe would have much effect. You need something with pressure actually hitting the pile

Hmmmmm, I wonder if one of those swivel sticks hooked up to a power washer could break up the jam?

I made my own swivel stick, it had a PVC cap on the end with only one small hole.  It puts out a pretty intense stream.  The problem is there was no way to see if it's doing any good other than the chunks that came out the drain.  Maybe version 2.0 will have a lighted bore cam attached.

My power washer puts out I believe 1500 PSI so I think the end would probably blow off then you'd have another issue. How to get it out of the tank.
Now maybe a short length of high pressure hose and a high pressure cap on the end with a  two or three 1/8" holes drilled thought one  side of the cap may work.

Ah, I didnt realize it swiveled. I guess mine is two 45's, I see the first one going left then I guess there a second going down, will this unit be long enough for that?

I don't know if it will be long enough. The web site says "?Includes a flexible 55-1/2" reach for basement holding tanks".  I don't know if that's the overall length or just the section that flexes. You'd have to try and take some measurements of your piping.  Remember the straight part should be able to fit partway into your piping down through the toilet valve.

I'm re-replying to this because I dont believe last one went through. I have what seems 2 45's.  Goes left under toilet then I guess down.  I would doubt that I could get this swivel to make two turns. And wonder if its long enough. Wonder why they did such a design from toilet to tank??  Got my Rid-x today. Will start there. It say 8 oz for 1500 gallon tank??? Which means I would use very leittle for 35 Gallon tank.  Seems like way too little, can I be more liberal with use amounts or can it actually hurt tank.  On a side note. My toilet wasnt holding water. Was ready to change gasket but when I tried hot water trick mentioned above  to clean pyramid it did seem to have steam cleaned gasket and now works???
