Manuka honey is said to be a natural elixir for folks with a 'sore throat'. I've never tried this, but plan to the next time I have a throat issue before an upcoming concert or singing event. More info here. I first heard about this on the You Tube channel of mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins.
