Headed south soon.....I'd like to take a break driving somewhere around Charlotte I-77. Anywhere to park for a few hours to refresh?
Rest area/truck stop/WalMart, etc.  Thanks

Right next to I77 at exit 42 in Troutman just north of Charlotte there is a Pilot-Flying J truck stop. There is a Wendys, McDonalds, Bojangles and Lowes close by the truck stop as well. Past that heading south towards Charlotte you get into more congested exits that would be a bit challenging to find a place to park. Additionally, there is construction on I77 between exits 19 and 36 that will be backed up between 6:30am and 9am then again 2:30pm to 6:30pm

There is also a Flying J at Fort Chiswell, VA which is around 2 1/2 hours north of Charlotte on I 81, we have overnighted there several times on our way south.
