looking for info on this CG as we are going there April 6-8 and would like to here some in-put for it. this will be our first full hook-up CG trip.thank you

We went there several years ago.  It was a Labor Day weekend and very, very HOT.  Temperatures were up in the region (around 110) and there is no shade in the park.  It is mostly paved (almost like a parking lot).  Our trailer air conditioner (13.5K in a 25 Ft Aljo 5er) could not keep up.  Even at night temperatures exceeded 85 degrees.

The park is right on the river, but when we were there the river was extremely crowded with boats, ski dos etc.  They have a swimming area and a swimming pool.

It was OK (except for the heat) but we didn't go back.  :(

On the positive side it is an interesting area and there are places to go around there (there is an Indian casino not far, also Parker Dam, Bullhead City, Lake Mead etc)

Before you go check with weather.com for a forecast.  I suspect it won't be so hot when you are going.

Anyway, I hope the weather is OK and you have a good time!  :)

It depends on what you are looking for. As you have read the heat is the drawback.

If you can handle the heat, I can't think of a better place to power boating. It's true you can step out of the RV and get on your boat beached (parked) right in front and off you go.

The water level remains constant and has little or no perceptable motion. And it's fresh water, naturally. Boat maintenance drove me crazy in the salt water of Florida.

We share a 24' Sea Ray with another couple and its been a good arrangement. They pull it down to Earp and we pull the towed. If one or both have to come back to Las Vegas, they take the towed, and occasionally we have brought the boat back. Things just seem to work out among reasonable, friendly people.

If you like fishing for the thrill of it, go over to the reeds and pull out a 3'-4' catfish any time you want to.

You will be going at a good time, temperature wise, remember summers are blistering there. That's the only drawback I see.  Or if you are an old fuddy duddy, it's not for you.
