Winterising 2006adventurer

I keep getting water thru my water heater when I use the bypass valve to pump antifreeze thru the water lines. I followed instructions in manual and also replaced bypass valve, but water still goes thru water heater. I have not had problems with this before but now I cannot keep antifreeze from entering water heater. Any help would be appreciated.

If the check valve on the rear of the heater (top/hot line) is bad, antifreeze will backfill into the heater.

You may have a one way valve on the tank input as well, mine does. It could also be defective.

Two check valves on the heater, they are well known to fail.

My 2006 adventurer had the valves marked wrong on the winterizing. It took a while to figure out the right positions and re-mark them. I also had a check valve go bad, but it was the out.
