Going to pick up our new TT this weekend, it has one slide out, no awning. What the general feeling on this? Add an awning or leave it alone and just check for debris before closing it?
Thanks,

I would recommend getting a cover for the slideout.  It will not only keep debris off the slideout, but also rain that could leak in around the seals.

When I looked at it, there were pluses and minuses.

Awnings have $ pounds cost, require maintenance, wear out, blow away,...

I decided to leave well enough alone.

Another thing to check on; is the RV your buying capable of installing the slideout awning. My McKenzie Starwood does not have metal plates installed on the upper corners of the slidout so there is no place to mount the brackets. I found this out when Camping World tried to install awning. I was very disappointed in Starwoods lack of attention to details.
