High water in our back yard
« on: January 12, 2017, 06:42:15 PM »
As I look out of our patio door/windows, I see a picture not seen for several years; I'm "looking up" at our boat! The recent California rains, early snow melt, and lake releases, coupled with normal "high" spring tides, mean that we have unusually high water in our back yard. Ramps to our and neighbors' boat docks are inverted (you walk up, instead of down the ramps).

A neighbor across our bay is in danger of running out of dock pilings. These are 40 foot pilings, and he has less than a couple of feet left.

I've been wondering how you all are doing in Disco Bay.  I worked EOC's for Petaluma in the early 80's.  Things happen fast in that area.  Stay safe.  How are the Delta levees doing?

Thanks Margi. Haven't heard/read anything about the levees. Here in Discovery Bay we have 100-year levees, with a possible upgrade to 200-year.
