I know that some of you are using Firefox, so I thought I'd pass this on. It arrived in my mailbox via a Kim Komando e-list. (Her homepage is http://www.komando.com.)

--> FIREFOX PATCHES 2 DANGEROUS HOLES
Firefox issued a new version (1.0.4) on Thursday. It patched two vulnerabilities that outside researchers had discovered. The
vulnerabilities were rated "critical," meaning intruders could have used them to seize control of victims' computers.

The flaw was disclosed inadvertently last weekend when e-mails sent by two researchers went awry. If you're using Firefox, don't fail to upgrade. It's quick and easy. The download is available at: http://www.mozilla.org/

Hope everyone is well!

To make it even easier, Firefox can automatically update or warn you about updates. Click on Tools|Option|Advanced. Under Software Update is a radio button to Check Now. If there is an update for your version it will proceed to install automatically. :)

Actually, the holes were discovered by a group of security experts who spend all their time searching for holes in Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape and MSIE,  So far this year they have found many, many holes and issued dozens of "Critical Alerts".  The fact that Fire Fox has had what, 4 patches/new versions released.. Speaks volumes (That's statistically zero)

NO one lost data, NO computers were comprimised and the fix was put out there within a week

All this from folks who don't get paid to do what they do
