I am painting my 1998 Tropical 6350 and need to remove the window awnings. I found plenty of information and videos in removing the patio canopy. But wonder if I am going to get molested by a highly sprung window awning when I take that last bolt out, LOL! Will I lose preload? Do I need to do anything except unbolt it?

Also, the vinyl cover over the slide, same question, need to remove it also and wonder it is will just unbolt?

Thanks in advance, you guys are a tremendous source of information

The Carefree window awning and toppers will have a spring locking feature, basically a hole in the roller tube where you can insert a pin through the spring mechanism to lock it in place. A bolt can usually be used instead of a pin.

Thanks for replying, Any chance you can tell the brand from pictures?
