Alberta, in Western Canada  has plenty of facilities to park your trailer or motorhome.

Check out the Travel Alberta Website . It has more than 615 campgrounds listed in more than 225 locations throughout the province.

Campgrounds range from basic rustic in the wilds of Alberta with nothing more than a parking space and maybe a fire-pit to full-service gorgeous RV resorts with electric, water and sewer  TV and phone hookups in some places..

Private campgrounds listed in the Alberta Campground Guide directory are regularly visited and inspected and receive annual reviews. The campgrounds can enhance recognition by participating in the Camping Select Star Rating program which will rate them on a two-tier system of stars reflecting separate facility (F) and activities (A) scores.

About half of the listed campgrounds either provide an e-mail address or website  address to make reservations easier. You can also make reservations at a number of provincial parks campgrounds and by paying a fee in advance to confirm your reservation.

Alberta has 68 Provincial parks and more than 200 recreation areas, most of which provide overnight camping.

Parks Canada plans to launch a national parks reservation system for the summer of 2005.

Parks Canada provides campsites in Banff, Elk Island, Jasper, Waterton Lakes and Wood Buffalo parks in Alberta.
