I have read much info on past forums about adjusting the thermistor. All very good info for me. My question is, while I am adjusting the little wire thing it keeps slipping out of the plastic piece attached to the fin. However when I'm traveling I do not like keeping the door open too long. There fore I should do it w/o food in there. (but I forget). It seems to be cooling. But the fins get dripping while I'm working with it.

http://www.snip-the-tip.com/cgi-bin/articca.cgi makes and sells adjustable thermistors for most Dometic refers and a fair number of Norcold.
The new thermistor is not attached to the fin.
