Staying one night with friends near SMU/Highland Park.  Need to find a place to just PARK the rv so we can stay with friends.  They live in apartment with no place to park.

Would you park your rv at a Walmart unsupervised for the night?  Other inner city options?

If you do decide you are comfortable with leaving at WM overnite make sure you check with the store.  We were traveling through the area last spring and stopped in a Dallas suburb WM and went in to ask and were told NO.  Not because the store had a problem but because of a city ordinance.  Got back on the road and called another WM some distance down the road and got the same answer.  Had to get a fair distance south before we found somewhere to stop.  Jim.

Here is a list of the Walmart's in Dallas taken from this Yahoo Group:  https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/walmartrving/info and the most recent status of overnight parking.

The Walmart's with "NOP" in the address are flagged as No Overnight Parking.  As always call the store and ask permission to park for ONE night only.  It is not a campground.  If you are looking for a multiple night stay, the use an RV Park.

About leaving your RV unattended at the store.....I have never done that and I would have to make that decision based on what I thought of the stores location once I arrived.

The only place I have left my RV parked overnight and unattended is Walt Disney World while we were staying at one of their value resorts and I could check on it without any difficulty.  Otherwise I would find an RV park close by your friends and park there (maybe they will give you a discount if you don't use any hookups) or just stay at the park and visit during the day.

some RV dealers offer monthly storage. Find one close by and see if they will sell you over night storage for a few dollars

I left mine overnight at a Camping World south of San Francisco when we went into the city and stayed at a hotel. Camping World said it was fine by them.

Thanks for all suggestions.  We decided to park at the airport, but it turned out that a church across the street allowed us to use their lot overnight.
