A friend of mine just gave me a can of GIBBS Lubricating oil. I had never heard of it. Has anyone used it and is it as good as they say it is. It's not cheap. On Amazon, it's almost $30.00 for two cans.
He purchased them at a small engine/flywheel show and paid around $11.00 per can.

Don't know about Gibbs.
We read in 2013, from Machinist Workshop Magazine, these test results:
Type Lube            Lbs force to break loose
None                    516
WD-40                  238
PB Blaster              214
Liquid Wrench        127
Kano Kroil              106
Rust Buster              53

Supposedly Rust buster is 50/50 mix of Acetone and Automatic Transmission Fluid.
You can buy Acetone in the finger nail polish remover department.

Good post. I just ordered Rust Buster from Walmart...$5.61 delivered for free.

I use Kroil and Liquid Wrench for penetrating oils, though the Kroil is a pretty decent lube as well.  My favorite general spray lube is Kwik Lube (from the Kwikee step people). The Kroil & Kwik Lube are pricey too, but a can typically lasts me a couple years.

Thanks Neal. I wish Gibbs would have been included in that test.

I like Deep Creep from Seafoam myself.  I also keep a can of 50% motor oil and 50% diesel fuel to soak rusted parts in to free them up.  Learned that one on a cargo ship I was on.

I  use Kroil and Liquid Wrench , but I think Kroil is better, but hard to find around here.  I also use diesel fuel in my parts washer, it does a better job cleaning part than the stuff they sell for parts cleaner. Problem is it's flammable where the parts cleaner isn't. I keep my parts cleaner at the opposite end of the garage than my work bench and welder. Diesel fuel lasts a long time too, although I don't clean as many parts anymore, since we quit racing. My hands and finger nails are clean again.
