I am heading from Biloxi Mississippi to Austin Texas on Thursday.  Are there any local Austin RV campgrounds where I could take some form of public transportation or Uber into Austin from the campground?

Austin Lone Star RV Park is 5 miles from downtown.  I saw a review saying that they were able to take Uber from the park to downtown for $15.  Thanks for the recommendation!

Neither Uber nor Lyft is presently operating in Austin due to a political squabble. There are other similar companies, Ride Austin is one, but you'll have to get their app.

Well that is bad news for me.  Thanks for the heads up.  I also see Fasten and Fare as alternatives to uber.

I spend 3 months a year in the Austin area.  Good luck getting into Lone Star, they are usually booked well in advance with a waiting list.  This is the slow time so you might get lucky.  There is also a new RV park not well known about yet, but a bit further out.  Longhorn RV Resort.  http://longhornrvresort.com/  we stayed here and it is new so no mature shade trees yet.  I don't know if the ride share companies service the park.  There was an Uber driver living in the park but works San Marcos because as previously stated Austin does not allow Uber.

I'm in Austin several times a year. I used to stay at Oak Forest http://www.robertsresorts.com/resorts/oak-forest-rvpark/ but haven't been there in over a year. It was "just OK" then but  ownership has since changed and I'm reading that good changes are afoot. It's still located in a part of town that's a shopping desert, though.
My favorite park is La Hacienda http://www.lahaciendarvpark.com/ which is a 30 minute drive to downtown on a good day, but is a beautiful park with decent shopping reasonably close by.
Stayed at Lone Start some years back. Decent park, but traffic into and out of downtown makes it no quicker a commute than the more outlying parks.
Getting a spot anywhere near Austin on short notice is tough at best, and impossible when there's an event in town. Austin has lots of events through the year.
