I had asked in a previous post about tow haul when towing a car maybe I should have asked about when to turn off the overdrive while towing is it necessary to turn off when towing on highway or just in city or hilly terrain
Sorry if I caused confusion with this and my other post
 
Use the overdrive until you notice the tranny shifting up/down frequently, i.e. "hunting" for the right gear. Generally that will be in rolling hills. In city driving you won't ever get into overdrive anyway, so no reason to switch it off.
