When we bought our Wrangler 8500 the dealer screwed in to the end of the floor under the door a metal plate the had two hooks to take a set of expandable steps.  Inside of a week of use the screws loosend and the plate was coming off. I should have looked under to see what they were screwing to because it is only aspenite or waferboard. I was thinking of screwing a sheet of 3/4 treated plywood to the underneath and mounting a bracket to it. Any thoughts?

If you have that access, I would put in a piece of flat stock steel.  At the very least thru bolt and use big fender washers.

Thanks I plan to . The trick is to avoid any of the plumbing running down the right hand side under the raised floor that connects the water tank to the toilet.
