The Historic Triangle includes Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown.  That's more than enough to keep you busy for two days.  Yorktown has a new American Revolution Museum which is very interesting.

I lived in Williamsburg for 4 years between 1990 and 1994
even back then 4 years was not enough to see it all.
Pick your interest and don't seat that you'll miss some things.
The mariner museum down in NN was good.
Plantations if you are into that
yorktown if you are into that
but given only 2-3 days, if those things aren't your passion I think I'd just get a pass to colonial williamsburg and roam around down there
  .... funny, "down there".... I lived North of town  ;D
