Looking to make a run up north in July.  Traveling with a pop-up with no AC so trying to find some shade.  Near water would be nice.  Not traveling with kids.  Looking for relaxing, not partying.  Any suggestions?

Search "1000 Islands Camping" and you should find plenty of places. There is no shortage of water in the area, that's for sure. The Wellesley Island State Park would work for you but it does fill up quickly in the summer (www.reserveamerica.com).

There is also a large KOA (http://www.koa1000islandsrv.com/) just west of Watertown. It's on an island right on Lake Ontario but it's mostly open sites and can get a bit "active".

don't miss Letchworth state Park. It is called the Grand Canyon of the East.
Upstate NY is loaded with water. All the Finger Lakes are great and all have plenty of state parks for rv camping. There is also The baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown if you are a baseball fan. Thousand Islands is awesome and of coarse there are the Great Lakes. enjoy
