I'm looking for information on which is the best route from Cheyenne WY to Coulter Bay (Grand Teton) WY. Choices are:
1) I25 north from Cheyenne to Casper then Hwy 26 west to Coulter Bay;
2) I80 west from Cheyenne to Rock Springs then Hwy 191 north to Coulter Bay.

I'm towing a 40 ft long 13 ft high 5th wheel.

Thanks,
Pat

Personally I would take I-25 up to Casper then Hwy 26 to Riverton, Dubois and into Moran Junction.  That is going to be more scenic and I am not personally a fan of boring interstates, but that is just me.

Also noticed this is your first post.  Welcome to the forum.

Mike.

US-26, definitely. The view coming in from the East on 26/287 is probably one of my favorites in the whole country.

I'm new here and don't mean to hijack this thread, but we are making the same drive going the opposite direction this summer.  We are leaving the tetons and heading down to rocky mountain park.  I promised my 8 yr old we'd stop at sacajawa's gravesite on the way.  I was planning on going from Moran down 26 then down 287 to rawlins and over 80 to cheyenne from there.  Your suggestions are making me question my route plan.  Is taking 26 over to I-80 a better option for me also?

This is my first trip through Wyoming.  Thanks.
