Hi,
We're hoping to travel to Quebec in our 37' class A this summer but I heard that Quebec requires a different drivers license to drive a motorized RV of more than 10000lbs (4500kg). Can anyone confirm or deny.
Actually I was finally able to get the correct information. The standard Quebec driver's license is for passenger vehicles (cars and vans) and trucks that weigh less than 10000lbs OR motorhomes and they have have a separate class for heavy trucks that weigh 10000+ lbs. I had incorrectly assumed that it was 'vehicles under 4500' / 'vehicles over 4500' and a motorhome would fall into the 'heavy trucks' class.
Just make sure your vehicle insurance covers you outside the U.S. For that matter, also check your health insurance. Hopefully you won't need either one, but better to err on the safe side.
