Flat towing a Jeep Patriot
« on: April 15, 2017, 10:36:42 AM »
Sorry if this has been done to death, but we are new to the RV community...We have a Winnebago Class A and are looking for a tow vehicle. I have lined up a 2012 Patriot w/manual transmission and 45K miles. It appears to be in great condition at Carmax. Any advice/concerns about towing the Jeep Patriot?

Thanks for any help!

First thing is to verify that it CAN or Cannot be towed 4 wheels down: Check with Remco here for what may be required:

We're all good there, Stu. RV Magazine and the Jeep Patriot owners manual say the Patriot with manual transmission can be flat towed in neutral with the key in the ACC position ...

The Owners Manual is the final authority, and it said okay.  You should be good to go.  Just do the setup their way.

It's not a dumb question if you do not know the answer.
