I do not have any information on my trailer. Its a single axle trailer. How do i figure out the tong weight? I do not even know how much the trailer weighs. I know the tong weight is like 10-15% of the total weight of the trailer right? Whats a best guess?

To figure the actual tongue weight, you can do it with a bathroom scale:

The only way to know your loaded trailer weight... is to weigh it!  This can be done on truck scales, found at almost all large truck stops (you'll pay a small fee to use the scale) and also at a lot of gravel pits or grain elevators (where you might be able to use the scale for free).

Here's our forum library article on how to weigh your trailer & calculate the tongue weight: Weighing Travel and Fifth Wheel Trailers
