Just got the email from Marcus. Also purchased Overtons.

Dont know what to think of this.

We got the same email notice.

Just one of those.. Wait & See.. things.

Nothing to be concerned about.

Wait a week.. some might buy GS/CW ?  ;)  :)

Gander Mt was closing a bunch of stores. I noticed the one right next door to Camping World in St Augustine is still open. Now I know why.  ;)

What do I think of this..
I am of two minds.

1: Will be nice if Affininty's ownership keeps the stores open.

2: Mega Merger Mainia means less real competition, and generally higher prices.

Gander has been struggling for awhile, so this will help keep stores open. And I have to say that CW under Lemonis has become more competitive in pricing. Service is still mediocre, but probably no worse than average for RV dealers.

I am hoping Camping World keeps the boat business and sells the stores to Sportsmen Warehouse.  I liked them better than either GM or Cabelas before Sportsmen Warehouse left the MN market. Not sure if GM fits what Camping World is selling now.

I believe CW bought about 17 of the approx 140 stores as well as both the Gander & Overton brand names.  They did not buy any inventory.
