I'm headed to Yellowstone in 3 weeks from Southern Michigan. Towing a 5th wheel. I'm thinking of taking I-80 to Omaha then north to I-90 (Mt. Rushmore). I don't want to take I90 through Chicago. Looking for info on roads conditions(i.e. rough roads). Trying to find smoothest route to Mt. Rushmore. Any info would be great. Thanks

We just came from Yellowstone to MI on 90. There was some construction in a few spots but very light traffic and an enjoyable drive. We took 90 to Wisconsin then head across the state on 21 and up 41 past Green Bay into the UP of MI to avoid Chicago and for a more relaxed trip. Of course we were going to Traverse City rather than Southern MI.
