Has anyone here driven from Virginia through West Virginia on I-64? We have a trip planned through West Va to Kentucky and wanted to see how the grades are on the road.
I've read that one area might be a challenge, and wanted to see what an experienced driver through the area thought.

We traveled I-64 westbound in West Virginia from Beckley to Huntington last year and I don't recall anything remarkable about it.  I see there is a seven-mile uphill westbound at Sandstone Mountain but it was a good road.  We were driving a motorhome and towing.

It's an interstate highway...how tough could it be?

I've driven this route in our motor home several times. There are a few moderately steep grades and some tight (for an interstate) curves with 50 mph speed limits. Other than that, the route presents no special challenges.
