Last year traveled rt 5 to 152 to 101. Encountered extreme wind gusts on 152 and would like to not repeat that. Looking at: Bakersfield rt 5 to 46 to 101. Any RV concerns for rt 46: narrow, steep, etc...?  Driving a 31ft class A, towing a jeep. Planning to go June 19, any feedback greatly appreciated.

We usually take 46 because there's less traffic and fewer towns.  It's basically flat and mostly straight.  It's a good two-lane road with wide shoulders through farming country.  Sometimes you see raisins drying.  Wind is not normal.  Don't believe that's ever been a problem for us there.

We've traveled that route dozens of times in the last few years.  Wind is not a big problem there.

152 between Gilroy and Los Banos, the most used alternate, is very often windy.

Thank you for all the replies, they were very encouraging.  Completed the route and it was flat and windless.  Safe travels to all.
