Lost tire on tow vehicle
« on: July 03, 2017, 11:39:58 PM »
Today we were driving down the road in our 2004 Itasca Suncruiser and someone motioned there was a problem. Indeed there was! For 2.5 miles or so we had been driving our 2001 Chavy Tracker on it's front passenger side wheel with no tire!
We hadn't noticed in the feel of the drive or in the rear camera.
Is there something that could warn a person that there's that kind of problem? Thankfully the tire didn't hit or hurt anyone and any sparks didn't cause a fire or anything!!
Hope that never happens again. Thankfully the car had a full size tire and wheel, we just had to get it pumped up and are good to go for now.

TPMS  They make models that can monitor all your tires from the coach dash.

Yes - you should have a TPMS on the toad for just that reason. Even if the toad has its own TPMS, you need a secondary one that can be monitored from the coach. You will not be aware of a toad tire failure otherwise, at least not until severe damage is already done. Maybe even a fire in the toad.

Get a TPMS that has enough sensors for both the coach tires and the toad (usually 10 sensors). Lots of brands available now, e.g. TST, Pressure Pro, etc.

They also make after market add-ons that do the same thing.. Pressure Pro, and TST to hame 3 (Yes 3, two different companies make products called Pressure Pro).

They work too
