I took a weekend trip with my favorite girlfriend. We awoke yesterday morning and discovered the gas leak detector failed. The propane valve defaulted to closed. No hot water
Being the diva that she is, she detests showering in public facilities, and she showers 2 x a day.
I recalled reading a post here somewhere that someone hot wired the gas valve as a temporary fix. I said "No problem dear". Pulled the detector, using the schematic on the back, cut, stripped, and twisted a couple wires together and presto! The valve was open in about 3 minutes total time from diagnosis to repaired.
Relaying this event as a thank you all for the wealth of information here. I am learning how to address issues before they happen!
