We've spent a lot of time in bear country (including at our stick home in the Ocala National Forest) but never had an "encounter". We did see an encounter whle workkamping in Pennsylvania, but that was a tent rather than an RV. Encounters are pretty rare, but not impossible, especially if food is left out.
I've seen a few pictures of damage done by bears to cars and RVs and it ain't pretty. Mostly, though, they simply don't bother.
