Loose Fuel Cap = Check Engine Light???
« on: July 17, 2017, 08:32:40 AM »
My fuel cap fits loose enough to rattle and is definitely not sealing.

Should this be generating an error code and illuminating the Check Engine light like is does on my cars? (It is not.)

Thanks, Tom

I don't think so. As far as I know, the fuel system on medium & heavy trucks does not have the vapor capture system that is required on most cars. The tank is vented.

That said, I would still be looking for the proper size fuel cap.
