ONAN 5500 LP oil level question

ONAN 5500 LP
I went to start my generator yesterday for its monthly cycle run, it has been idle for the last month.  I checked the oil prior to starting the engine and the level was just above the low indicator on the stick.  After running the engine for 2 hours and letting the engine rest about 15 minutes, I checked the oil again and it was right at the full level indicator as it was when I last used it.

This is my first LP powered engine and I have never noticed this issue with gasoline powered engines.  Is this normal from the oil expanding due to heat?  Is this something I should be concerned with?

Gary - I have noticed the same thing on my Onan 5500 and just assumed it was expansion from heat.

Thanks John.  I came home from work today and checked it again, FULL to the top of the stick???? Makes no sense to me.

It's easy to forget to do, but I try to make it a habit of checking the oil in the generator before every trip or if I have used it for at least 30 hours. I have noticed mine burning oil because I have had to add oil on long trips when we're driving with the generator on for a/c.
