Now a NEW problem, I have NO 12 volts in the camper...unless the coach
is plugged in to 120 volts, or on Gen. power

Got a clue, as I do NOT hear the relay activate when I plug and unplug
the power cable into 120 volt line. What relay have a heard for 15 yrs?

On further trouble shooting, the Auto transfer sw. is working
as prescribed. After starting the Gen. while MH is plugged into
shore power, I can load and unload the Gen. and the RPM/pitch
will change.

So I have to surmise that the relay is stuck in whatever condition
I usual hear when I plug into shore power.
AS I HEAR NOTHING WHEN I PLUG AND UNPLUG TO SHORE POWER!

The sw. by the door (batt. disconnect relay) appears to be switching
power, and batt. mode solenoid I can activate it by jumping power
to coil.

I assume (batt. mode solenoid) is the one activated on the dash!

Is there more relays that come into play?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....coopcolt

Is the battery disconnect switch perhaps in the wrong position?  ...or is it not working (bad relay) to connect the batteries?  That would explain no 12v power unless 120v shore power is plugged in.

I'm with Afchap - the symptoms you're describing sound like your battery disconnect-switch is off (in disconnect mode) The switch on your dash is different - it's a momentary switch (meaning you have to hold it down) and its purpose is to energize a relay to connect the house and chassis batteries. When you release it, the relay disengages and the house and chassis batteries are no longer connected.

The battery disconnect switch in your doorway controls a different relay that turns off all 12 volt power to the coach, when the coach is not plugged into shore-power. It also turns off your converter's charger, so your house batteries will not charge. When you plug into shore-power, your 12 volt lights will start working, even if the battery disconnect switch is off, but your batteries will not charge until the disconnect switch is turned on. Not all battery disconnect switches operate like that, but I believe your Winnebago does.

John, where would I look for the 12 v Battery fuse?

I have a good door sw. and a good relay disconnect,
as it is switching the 12v off and on.

I opened up the charger under the oven, checked the 2 --30amp
fuses, both good. But there was now 12 volts on a large BLACK
wire coming to the charger. All with no shore power.

So 12 v left on a red wire and went to the charger on a black wire.
Tell me that somewhere switched/fused and changes red to black.

I only know 2 sets of reset fuses, on the step and above the frig.
that I know of!

Thanks for ALL the input, now a new/fresh start TODAY!

The battery mode solenoid is indeed the switch on or near the dash, sometimes Winnebago calls it battery boost. All it does is bridge the house and chassis battery bank together when the engine is running or when the boost switch is activated.

The house disconnect solenoid is a continuous duty relay that is activated with the switch by or near your entrance door. Check for 12V on both sides of that relay

It looks like it is the 55 amp breaker in the step

John I got it, power coming to and from 55amp. was good,
BUT a large (2 wire) blue plug, when I pushed back the chafe wrap
I could see copper wire, dont know it it (wire) was too short
or the other wire was too long. That a joke!

Thanks all for the input!
