ONLY MANUAL transmission Miatas can be flat towed. AUTOMATIC transmission cars can NOT be towed 4-down.
I towed a 2000 5-speed Miata over 35,000 miles and have now towed a 2010 and a 2012 6-speed Miata over 25,000 miles.
Additionally, I have helped more than 100 other Miata owners to get their cars towable.

Thank you Tim for answering my question. I would be very interesting in receiving some guidence on how to prepare my Miata for towing. It's such a great little car and am thrilled that it can be towed with all four wheels down.
