looking at getting a surge protector for my class c , do I have to get one for a class c or will any kind of protector work.

You didn't say if your coach was 30 or 50 amp. If you buy a 50 amp surge guard you can use it on 30 amp and when you upgrade you don't need to buy a new one.

I just bought a new to us rig, and needed a surge protector. After some research, and many recommendations on the various RV forums, I decided a hardwired surge protector would work best for me. Yesterday I ordered a Progressive Industries EMS HW50C. This is a 50 amp surge protector, they also make a similar model for 30 amp.
