What is the collective opinion of the Forum regarding lubrication of the gear rack on the slide out unit?
Many thanks for any advice.

Not collective but strictly my opinion.  I do have two of the Schwintec slides and have never lubed either in going on 3 years.  Had the FWS assembly replaced last May with the slim rack system and all is well.  I don't think any failure of these type of slides has been related to lack of lubrication.  Keep them clean and unobstructed.

Don't lube the gear rack. Here's a video that may interest you though:

When we bought our RV with the Schwintek slides, Greg, the guy that does the PDI and walk through with us, showed us the control boxes and how to reset. He said the best thing to do is download and print out the troubleshooting guide and a few other articles that pertain to the slides, then put them with our owners manuals. He said printing them out is better than relying on an internet connection if we were to need to work on them.
