Hi,
we have a 2007 keystone fifth wheel.  The cover of the exterior receptical has come off and the screw holes on the outlet are stripped so it needs to be replaced.  the outlet is the kind that has the slots for the wires and a cover for the back.  can i use a normal outlet to replace this or does it need to match the existing.  i'm a little concerned about the exposed terminals on a normal outlet.

thanks
dave

No the GFCI is "Up-LIne" from that.. It is GFCI protected, but it is not, itself a GFCI

To the Original poster.. Yes you can use a regular outlet but you may need to add a box as the "Quick Box" type outlet may, (or may not) be mounted in a proper outlet mounting box.

I seriously do not like those "Quick Box" outlets by the way.

thanks for the responses.  I can get a quick box on line but i don't like them either - they are just plastic.  i should be able to get a shallow box that will fit in the existing opening.
