I'm replacing you toad from a Jeep liberty to a Grand Cherokee. I've used a Blue Ox tow bar so I'll keep that and get a new base plate for the Cherokee. For lights I'm wondering what is a better way to go. Blue Ox recommends adding either a new bulb or LED to the tail light assembly and run the wires forward (which is what I had previously). Roadmaster seems to sell a kit that uses diodes and connects to the existing lights.
Any thoughts on which is a better solutions?

On my 2017 Patriot, I just went to Harbor Freight (with coupon of course) and bought their magnetic tail lights and ran the wire to a 7 way under the bumper plugging into coach.  This way I didn't mess with new vehicle wiring or lights.

We did the Roadmaster diode kit on our toad.  A 2014 SRX (don't think that makes a difference though).  Works great and carefree.
