Hi everyone,

My two buddies and I recently bought a 1992 Fleetwood Southwind Chevy.  We're in the process of getting it ready for Eagles Season (we're in south Jersey).  There are a few projects we're working on.  It's road worthy, the previous owner took great care of it, but due to it's age and begin outside in the Northeast there's some work to be done.

I'm having trouble finding good spec information on it. I would like to figure out which model we have (F,E,H,L, or Y). In particular, right now I'm trying to find:

Recommended tire inflation with no additional loading
Correct oil filter for the 454 engine

Any info for where to find good specs would be a great help.

The model letter refers to the floor plan (interior layout), so makes little practical difference once you own the rig and can see where things are.

You can find an older Chevy P30 chassis service manual at http://www.gmcmi.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/P30-Chassis-Manual.pdf
This manual, derived from Chevy chassis sources, is also helpful and easier to find key info:

Tire inflation is determined by the tire size and the weight load the tire carries, so get the coach weighed axle-by-axle or wheel-by-wheel and look up the tire size in  a tire load/inflation table. Michelin & Goodyear both publish RV-use inflation tables. See the Michelin RV Tire Guide at https://www.michelinb2b.com/wps/b2bcontent/PDF/RV_Tires_Brochure.pdf

There are multiple oil filters available for the 454, a standard 1-qt size and a larger2-qt size that provides extra filtration capacity. The "extra" size is longer but has the same fitting on the end, so screws into the same oil filter port. The standard filter is an AC-Delco PF-25 (or equivalent from Wix, Napa, etc) and the longer one is the NAPA 1794 or the Wix 51794.

Can't help much on your questions, but if you come on down to lower Delaware, I know a guy that can do a real nice purple and black paint job on it! ;D

Thanks Gary! That's very helpful info. Goat, is the purple and black for the ravens or Prince? I can't remember... :p
