Direct tv thru king quest, guide doesn't work?

Finally broke down and bought 4100 king quest. Finds signal and have my channels.. sort of... in order to watch 397, I can't see on guide. If I manually put in 397 i can watch channel... my guide shows practically nothing... any suggestions...? Hate to say, but I miss the old huge sat. Dish... at least my channels showed AND my Tv looks nice. Now I have a small screen on my wide panel Tv..
What I do for football...
