Hi everybody. I have a question. I have pets, both small dogs and cats. How bad are the coyotes and snakes in the Yuma area?

They are no worse than anyplace else. Especially the desert.  I have spent considerably time in the southwest deserts and rarely ever see a snake or a coyote. Just don't let them out off leash.

Rarely see snakes in the winter.

It is usually between April and November when I have seen snakes.

Coyotes are common in the desert areas all through the year.

As said do not let dogs run loose plus Yuma County I believe has a leash law.

There are Bob Cats in the green belt on the South side of the Colorado River, they wander through the RV Park which is just to the West of West Wetlands Park.  They eat the Cats and Chihuahuas that roam free.

There are Rattlers in the Park, but don't generally come out until Early April.
