Spongy spot on trailer floor?
« on: September 13, 2017, 10:58:35 AM »
spongy may not be the right word.  There is one spot near a slide on our new-to-us 5th wheel that squeaks when we step on it and presses in a little.  It's a KZ Durango.  I don't know if they were made with a single sheet of plywood on the floor or tongue and groove sheets.  How do I find out what is going on there without tearing up the floor?

btw, at some point, the carpet on the slides and in front will need to be replaced.  It's not bad yet, but is beginning to have flat spots under the booth.  We'd rather have vinyl than carpet but I have only seen vinyl slides on an Open Range so I assume it's hard to do.  How hard is that or just plain carpet replacement?

Rob made out well replacing his carpet in his slides.

He's done a lot of work to his RV and it looks really nice.

You may be able to go under the RV and remove some the belly to gain access to the bottom side of the floor.
