Turn Signal
« on: September 18, 2017, 07:28:08 AM »
When I use the left turn signal the lights on the dash and side marker lights flash. On a 2002 workhorse P32 chassis. Checked all the bulbs. Right side works ok.

Is this a new issue, or has it been happening for awhile? Was any work performed on the vehicle just prior when it started happening? It sounds like someone plugged the dash light harness into the turn signal relay.

Suggest making up a jumper wire and checking grounds at all turn signal bulbs starting with the side ( if equipped), the front, then the rear. I would check jumper continuity to ground with meter at each place.

If you have the old 3 wire stop/turn/tail light system. I suggest that you have a broken filament in the left front or rear turn signal bulb, that is shorted to the other filament in the bulb. That would create a path for the turn signal to illuminate the dash lights. Dash light and tail lights are on the same electrical path.
