HI all,  I just bought a 1994 Palimino Yearling.  It has a double size bed slide on the front and a queen size bed slide on the rear.  The front slide, slides easily and holds itself up even without the poles inserted.  When the poles are inserted it is nice and secure.  The rear slide, slides out easily but does not hold itself up without the poles installed and even when the poles are installed the bed is still not secure and you cannot put any weight on it.  Everything looks good but obviously something is wrong.

Any ideas on what I can check or do?

Thank you

Check where the slide rails are mounted, to make sure the hardware is secure and the material is solid. Pop-ups are susceptible to water damage, which could compromise the material.

Upon further inspection we found the entire rear was rotted out under the aluminum skin.  We pulled the entire rear off, disconnected the skin from the rotten wood and Styrofoam insulation (not easy), replaced everything and reapplied the aluminum skin over the new wood and Styrofoam.

As you said - pop up campers are susceptible to wood rot.
