We leave Thursday 10/12 at 11:00am for our first big trip with the new travel trailer. We will stop at Levi Jackson state park in London KY for the night. We are headed to the outerbanks but will be stopping at Asheville NC for the weekend. The wife wants to see the Biltmore estates. We are staying at KOA Asheville west. Then Monday off to Camp Hatteras RV Resort until Saturday.  The route back will be through Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio.

Interested in any recommendations on places too see, things to do, or any other recommendations.

Thanks
Doug

Take one of the ferries, either from Cedar Island or Oyster Creek to Okracoke ($) and then drive up the Banks to the cg. You will come across another ferry on the way (free). Very pleasant and enjoyable trip. Check out info on the ferry system here: https://www.ncdot.gov/ferry/

The Biltmore Estate can only be described as "Unbelievable".....and remember it was built in the late 1800s without any of today's modern technology (power tools, bulldozers, etc.) and all in about 7 years.

Thanks. We bought tickets to the Biltmore last night. We were a little shocked at the price, $65 each. Hope it?s worth it.

Biltmore is nice. Plan on spending at least 1/2 day. We took the ferry from Cedar Creek to Okracoke and then took the free ferry to Hatteras.  However, we spent 2 weeks. With only 5 days I might head to Hatteras pretty quick.
