Once again I am considering a truck camper. Wife has informed me she would't be comfortable pulling a trailer , no matter how small. So ,
IIke the slide out for room , but most people have read about prefer non-slide type. Not planning any off-road wilderness trips. Looking for high quality camper suitable for long trips and 3 to 5wks of use per event.

Slide-outs are absolutely worth it if you spend any time in a camper.  If all you do is sleep in it and go out for diner every night, that may be a different story.

I have done pop ups, non-slides, and slides.  I will not own a non-slide.

X2 on the slides. I had an 11 foot, non-slide truck camper many years ago - it?s a very small living space. Before you make any decisions make sure you spend some time in the new 2-3 slide campers, they are really nice. Gonna take a big truck though...

Check out the Host Everett or Mammoth. Thats on my wishlist. For a truck camper, cant see getting more space.
