Hi
I have a 1994 Rockwood Embassy recently acquired.
It has 3 batteries in series and seems to be wired to the entire chassis.
They also start the vehicle.
So what batteries am I supposed to use, I am more normally used to separate leisure and starting batteries so I am a bit confused.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Paul

I think you had better check that battery set-up again!! 3 similar batteries in series does not compute as it would give you either 18 Volts or 36 volts depending on them being 6 or 12V batteries.

What you likely have is 2 12V batteries in parallel for the house supply and one by itself for the chassis (engine).

You might have 2-6 volt in series for 12V for the house and 1 12V for the engine. 6 volt batteries will have 3 holes on top, 12V will have 6 holes to add distilled water when necessary.

Alfa38 is right, can?t be 3 in series. Theoretically possible it?s three 12v in parallel if someone did an odd setup.

A clear picture of the batteries and cables would be helpful.

Many RV's come with two house batteries, EIther GC-2 Six volt in series (What I recommend) or liek Group 27 MARINE/deep cycle in parallel.. And one 12 volt Starting battery.

Some folks will parallel all 3 for added capacity (not really a good idea)
