What is a reasonable liability coverage to carry on an used motor home?  Thanks!

How risk averse are you?  Some people are comfortable with minimal liability.  I choose to carry $300,000 on the RV with $1 million of umbrella coverage on top of the RV policy.  It isn't real expensive and I want the insurer to have enough dollars at risk that they will vigorously defend any case.  I'm sure there are others who carry more.  Like life insurance I hope it is the "worst" investment I make!

Liability has nothing to do with new vs used. It you hit somebody or something you are just as responsible for the damage or injury whether your vehicle is new or 20 years old.  It should be the same limits as you have on your car, but whether that is high ($1M) or low (under $100k) or somewhere between is your call, based on your state laws and willingness to assume financial risk.
