Storm Last Night: Found This Morning
« on: October 24, 2017, 12:26:46 PM »
We had a bit of a storm last night and when I went out this morning I found this.
Need a new dome and fan motor assembly. Brass Supply down the road has them. No need to bother with insurance since I have $500 deductible.

Sometimes I don't mind the one thing, it's the another that chaps my behind.

If there has to be storm damage, I'd think I'd rather have a tree branch take out my skylight than put a hole in the roof itself. I'd say you got lucky compared to what might have happened. ;)

A suspicious person might think that, while washing the branch, you accidentally stuck it through the vent. Just sayin'. ;)

We had a microburst drop a large limb into our driveway. With my car, my wife's Jeep and the motorhome sitting out there, the limb took out the back window of my car. I was never so happy to see broken glass!

You might want to check the entire roof. The dome might not be the only thing that got hit. Hope Im wrong. Cheers

You got lucky.  Extremely lucky.  Mine wasn't so lucky.  I ended up with a whole new roof.  This went all the way through and came out just inside the ceiling over the slide.  I got lucky that it was just the wind at this point...the rain had already passed by.

So Twiggy broke in to take a shower :o

She could of just knocked on the door. I would of let shower in the house.
Man...sorry to see that R. Did much water come in?

It's only in the shower area so doesn't matter if it gets wet.

Are you suspicious Kevin?

I would agree with you too.

I've got a brother in law who had a camper. He kept it in a CG all year. He went up in the winter to check it out and walked around it. Everything looked fine. They went to open it up in the spring and about died. Apparently a big branch from a pine tree broke off due to heavy snow. It fell and poked a 6" hole in the roof then fell on the ground. For most of the winter, snow/rain was filling up the trailer. The entire inside was covered with mold. The trailer was totaled by the insurance co.
