99 Chieftan Suburban SF-42 Furnace Problem
« on: November 02, 2017, 09:28:58 PM »
A friend was tailgating at the NDSU football game last Friday when the Furnace all of a sudden shut off. All other propane appliances are working. He has replaced the limit switch and the control board. He replaced the control board with a Dinosauer FAN50 Plus. The thermostat tests fine. It still doesn't work. I am thinking it may be the propane valve. Tomorrow we will go through the Suburban trouble shooting flow chart step by step. Any ideas?

Make shure the "sail " switch is working properly.

Did the fan shut off as well as the burner? If so, the sail switch is eliminated and so is the propane valve.  Is the furnace receiving 12v power?  It is NOT powered via the thermostat - it has its own 12v power line and an associated fuse.

Turns out it was the fan motor that was replaced 11-23-17 and only had a few hours on it.
